5 ways to practice self love.
#1 Get out of your comfort zone.
Yes, I'm talking to you. Say yes to the things that take you out of your comfort zone because they might turn out to be precisely what you needed. So what I'm saying is just say yes and go for it. One of the classes I took at ALT summit called "Love Yourself More and Kick-Ass," taught by Isadora Dantas, took me so far out of my comfort zone I wanted to shut down and leave more than anything. I looked over at Kayla Asked if we could leave not once, not twice, but three times. She looked at me every single time and told me, no, if you want to leave that bad, then this is precisely where you need to be. This brings me to #2 on my list.
#2 Empowering girl gang.
Surround yourself with women who genuinely love and support you and want what's best for you. The ones you can cry with, laugh with, and trust more than anyone. The ones who sometimes know you better than you know yourself. The ones who compliment you when you need it the most. I can't stress enough how important it is to be surrounded by strong, beautiful women.
#3 Acknowledge the mean girl in you.
Girl.... stop being so hard on yourself. I know it's easier said than done, and it's not going to happen overnight, but you have to be a better you for yourself. Do Not talk down to yourself. Be your biggest supporter because you don't have anyone else; you have you at the end of the day. Speak to yourself as you would speak to your closest friends, your mother, or your daughter. If you wouldn't say it to or about them, you shouldn't say it to yourself. You are strong and capable of so many things.
#4 Choose who you follow and engage with.
Follow and engage with people who inspire you to do better and be better. Follow people who bring you joy. Remove anyone, from not only your social media but your life, that is negative and toxic. This was a big one for me. I recently unfollowed over 300 people on Instagram. Why? Because they didn't bring me joy. Because seeing their post made me feel like I wasn't enough, and that's not the type of energy I want or need in my life. I am a firm believer that you are who you surround yourself with, and let me tell you, I have a big heart, so I've struggled with this so much.
#5 Acknowledge your struggles.
You have to accept whatever comes at you in life with the best you have to give. We all struggle, and it's okay not to be okay some days. You can't ignore your problems if you want to be truly happy. The attitude you have while facing struggles matters a lot, and it can make a huge difference in your life, for good or bad; it all depends on you. So face your struggles head-on and continue to be the badass we all know you are.
I hope this inspires you to find your inner badass and conquer the world because you are capable of amazing things.❤️
