Handmade Jewelry. Kentucky Roots. National Recognition.

Press & Media | The HorseFeathers Gifts Story in the Spotlight

From a single-wide trailer on a Kentucky farm to national award shows, bestselling marketing books, lifestyle magazines, and major business platforms, HorseFeathers Gifts has built a press history that reads like a roadmap of grit, creativity, and pure heart.

This is the story of how one small handmade jewelry brand made its way into newsrooms, gift guides, celebrity events, and industry-leading publications across the country.

Humble Beginnings, Big Spotlight Moments

HorseFeathers Gifts began with one vision: create meaningful gemstone jewelry that helps women treasure the moments that matter. What started at a kitchen table quickly grew into a brand recognized by journalists, editors, influencers, and creative leaders across the United States.

Local Kentucky outlets were some of the first to highlight the brand’s growth and story, including The Owensboro Times, which shared the HorseFeathers journey in “Jewelry business finds perfect fit in Owensboro.”

Soon after, KET featured Chelsea in multiple interviews, including the original HorseFeathers profile and a Mother’s Day special episode celebrating Kentucky makers.

These early spotlights helped launch HorseFeathers Gifts into the national press landscape.

A defining moment in the HorseFeathers journey

Martha Stewart Dreamer Into Doer Award

Shortly after gaining local recognition, HorseFeathers Gifts was selected as a Martha Stewart Dreamer Into Doer, an honor recognizing women who turn passion into thriving businesses. Chelsea was invited to New York City to celebrate alongside other honorees at Martha Stewart’s headquarters, where she spent time with Martha’s team and even shared a meal with her family.

This experience marked one of the brand’s first major national moments—solidifying HorseFeathers as more than a small handmade business, but a growing brand with meaningful impact.

A little chaos, a lot of growth

Live on FOX News

Not long after, HorseFeathers stepped into an even bigger spotlight with a live interview at the FOX News Los Angeles studio. During the segment, Chelsea and her mom shared how they were running a thriving handmade business during a challenging economic time.

The interview had its fair share of unforgettable moments—from a spinning chair on live television to Chelsea’s mom joking on-air, “Some days I just want to kill her.”

But what happened next changed everything.

The surge in traffic from the broadcast was so intense that the HorseFeathers website crashed for several hours, and when it came back online, more than 8,000 new people had joined the email list in a single day.

TV, Film & Celebrity Events

HorseFeathers Gifts stepped into the entertainment world through exclusive celebrity gifting experiences, beginning with an invitation to a Golden Globes gifting suite in Los Angeles. Surrounded by actors, producers, stylists, and media, Chelsea introduced HorseFeathers jewelry to industry insiders who immediately connected with the brand’s meaningful designs.

HorseFeathers jewelry was later featured in The Artisan Group’s celebrity gift bags at the MTV Movie Awards, where young Hollywood received handcrafted pieces from the brand.

From there, relationships with stylists and costume designers led to HorseFeathers appearing on screen in a variety of television shows and films, including:

  • Revenge (EJ Bonilla wearing HorseFeathers on-screen)
  • Jessie (Disney Channel)
  • Pretty Little Liars (The CW)
  • Big Little Lies (HBO)
  • Multiple Hallmark Channel movies
